Our Day
Our days are very much child led and guided by the children following the ethos of the Curiosity Approach. A modern-day approach to early childhood which takes inspiration from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whariki, Montessori and the ethos of Dr Emmi Pikler of the naturally unfolding child.

As a setting we follow Anna Ephgrave’s Planning in the Moment method. Based on a skilled practitioner noticing teachable moments as the children go about exploring their environment. This teachable moment is used to extend the child’s interest or knowledge or master a new skill.

Great emphasis is placed on our environment as the third teacher. Having a well though out, enabling environment full of open ended, authentic resources is key to sparking a child’s curiosity and thus ensuring quality teach able moments can be facilitated.
